Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The streambed by Nordahl Grove was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2001, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,585.00 (€ 2,874.46). Other works by Nordahl Grove have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in September 2003 by the work Early morning in winter at EUR 3,346.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The streambed von Nordahl Grove im Oktober 2001 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.585,00 (€ 2.874,46) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Nordahl Grove wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im September 2003 die Arbeit Early morning in winter mit EUR 3.346,00.
