In June 2013 Sothebys in London held the auction Important Russian Art, which included the work Children By The Piano by Nikolai Bogdanov-Belsky. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 422,500.00 (€ 493,133.17), 41% above the upper estimate. With this result, Children By The Piano is even the most expensive work of art by Nikolai Bogdanov-Belsky that we have observed at auctions so far.
