Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Nicholas Roerich achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2019. In the Russian Pictures auction, the work Guru-Guri Dar sold for GBP 43,750.00 (€ 51,373.20) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicholas Roerich achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Himself Came in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 1,756,500.00 (€ 2,459,554.43).
