Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Belukha by Nicholas Roerich was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2018, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 18,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at GBP 60,000.00 (€ 67,678.18). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicholas Roerich achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Himself Came in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 1,756,500.00 (€ 2,459,554.43).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Belukha von Nicholas Roerich im November 2018 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – GBP 18.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit GBP 60.000,00 (€ 67.678,18) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nicholas Roerich erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Himself Came im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.756.500,00 (€ 2.459.554,43).
