This artwork by Nikolai Alexandrovich Benois achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Olympia in June 2007. In the Russian Pictures, Works of Art and Icons auction, the work Two Set Designs For A Production Of Sadko sold for GBP 16,800.00 (€ 24,930.36) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Nikolai Alexandrovich Benois; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Russian Village sold at auction in June 2011 with the realized price of GBP 31,250.00 (€ 34,572.32).
