In the Russian Icons and Pictures Including works by Non-Conformist Artists auction, the work Stage design for Oberon: Act II, Scene 1a: La reggia del Califf sold for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 15,752.91) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nikolai Alexandrovich Benois - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Russian Village, which sold at auction in June 2011 for GBP 31,250.00 (€ 34,572.32).
