Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Nigel Cooke achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in July 2020. In the New Now auction, the work Storm with Shattered Tree sold for GBP 56,250.00 (€ 62,742.59) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nigel Cooke - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Stumpy'S Night, which sold at auction in May 2015 for USD 262,000.00 (€ 238,311.81).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Nigel Cooke erzielte im Juli 2020 bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion New Now wurde die Arbeit Storm with Shattered Tree für GBP 56.250,00 (€ 62.742,59) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Nigel Cooke mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Stumpy'S Night beobachtet, die im Mai 2015 für USD 262.000,00 (€ 238.311,81) versteigert wurde.
