Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Presumed portrait of the Countess Elisabeth de Saint-Périer (1701-1777) by Nicolas de Largillière was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in June 2021. The price achieved of EUR 50,400.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicolas de Largillière achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La belle Strasbourgeoise in September 2020 with an auction result of EUR 1,570,000.00.

Die Arbeit Presumed portrait of the Countess Elisabeth de Saint-Périer (1701-1777) von Nicolas de Largillière kam im Juni 2021 bei Sothebys in Paris zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 50.400,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nicolas de Largillière erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La belle Strasbourgeoise im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 1.570.000,00.
