Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2013 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work Quarrymen At Work In The Gardens Of A Country House by Nicolas-Charles Silvestre. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,052.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Nicolas-Charles Silvestre have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An extensive landscape with fishermen and travellers on a bridge, a town in the background in July 2003 with an auction result of GBP 4,182.50 (€ 5,466.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Quarrymen At Work In The Gardens Of A Country House von Nicolas-Charles Silvestre zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 875,00 (€ 1.052,49) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nicolas-Charles Silvestre auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An extensive landscape with fishermen and travellers on a bridge, a town in the background im Juli 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.182,50 (€ 5.466,81).
