This artwork by Nicolai Fechin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in April this year. In the Modern American Art auction, the work Bearded Old Man (The Philosopher) sold for USD 23,940.00 (€ 21,684.78) - well above the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicolai Fechin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Nadezhda Sapozhnikova in November 2017 with an auction result of GBP 3,650,900.00 (€ 4,144,314.62).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Nicolai Fechin erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern American Art wurde die Arbeit Bearded Old Man (The Philosopher) für USD 23.940,00 (€ 21.684,78) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nicolai Fechin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of Nadezhda Sapozhnikova im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.650.900,00 (€ 4.144.314,62).
