Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work A Group Of Eight Works On Paper by Nicolai Cikovsky for USD 1,250.00 (€ 949.27). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Nicolai Cikovsky have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Candlewood Lake in February 2009 with an auction result of USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,936.03).
