Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Portrait Of Jacob Jozias Van Bredehoff (1677-1748), Seated Three-Quarter Length, Wearing A Brown Coat With A White Chemise And A Red And Orange Cloak, In A Formal Garden by Nicolaas Verkolje was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Sothebys in Amsterdam in May 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 10,450.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Nicolaas Verkolje have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Presentation In The Temple in November 2005 with an auction result of EUR 60,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Portrait Of Jacob Jozias Van Bredehoff (1677-1748), Seated Three-Quarter Length, Wearing A Brown Coat With A White Chemise And A Red And Orange Cloak, In A Formal Garden von Nicolaas Verkolje wurde im Mai 2008 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Sothebys in Amsterdam versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 10.450,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nicolaas Verkolje auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Presentation In The Temple im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 60.000,00.
