Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of EUR 3,750.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Nicolaas Riegen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A calm: fishermen inspecting their catch in April 2003 with an auction result of EUR 17,925.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sailing vessel 'De Hoop' on choppy waters von Nicolaas Riegen kam im September 2010 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 3.750,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nicolaas Riegen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A calm: fishermen inspecting their catch im April 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 17.925,00.
