Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2016 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters & 19th Century Art - including Dutch Impressionism, which included the work Ships near the harbour entrance by Nicolaas Riegen. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 5,250.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nicolaas Riegen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A calm: fishermen inspecting their catch, which sold at auction in April 2003 for EUR 17,925.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2016 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Masters & 19th Century Art - including Dutch Impressionism durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ships near the harbour entrance von Nicolaas Riegen zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 5.250,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Nicolaas Riegen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A calm: fishermen inspecting their catch beobachtet, die im April 2003 für EUR 17.925,00 versteigert wurde.
