In December 2004 Christies in Rome held the auction DIPINTI E DISEGNI ANTICHI, which included the work San Sebastiano curato dalle pie donne by Nicola Malinconico. The price achieved of EUR 14,880.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Other works by Nicola Malinconico have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2006 the work Il Buon Samaritano was auctioned for EUR 26,040.00.
