In February 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Impressionist and Modern Art including Russian and Latin American Art, which included the work Still Life With Gold Basket by Nikolai Ivanovich Vasilieff. It changed hands for a price of USD 11,875.00 (€ 7,819.19) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Still Life With Gold Basket is the most expensive artwork by Nikolai Ivanovich Vasilieff that we have observed at auctions so far.
