Auction result well in line with expectations
The work South African Isivunoi by Nicholas Hlobo was sold in the Modern & Contemporary African Art auction at Sothebys in London in April 2019. It changed hands for a price of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 21,811.67) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nicholas Hlobo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in May 2017 for GBP 60,000.00 (€ 68,912.42).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit South African Isivunoi von Nicholas Hlobo wurde im April 2019 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 21.811,67) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Nicholas Hlobo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für GBP 60.000,00 (€ 68.912,42) versteigert wurde.
