Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work South African Injongo by Nicholas Hlobo. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 37,806.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Nicholas Hlobo have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2017 the work without title was auctioned for GBP 60,000.00 (€ 68,912.42).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit South African Injongo von Nicholas Hlobo zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 37.806,89) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Nicholas Hlobo konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2017 die Arbeit ohne Titel für GBP 60.000,00 (€ 68.912,42) versteigert.
