Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Noblewoman, Possibly Lettice Knollys (1539-1634) by Nicholas Hilliard was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2010. The price achieved of GBP 121,250.00 (€ 145,789.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nicholas Hilliard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Highly Important Miniature of Elizabeth I (1533-1603), Queen of England 1558-1603, In Gold Dress With Gold-Embroidered White Sleeves, The Bodice And Sleeves Slashed To Reveal White, The Bodice Richly Embellished With Gold-Set Ruby, Diamond And Drop, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 276,000.00 (€ 409,570.12

Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Noblewoman, Possibly Lettice Knollys (1539-1634) von Nicholas Hilliard kam im Juli 2010 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 121.250,00 (€ 145.789,46) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden.
