Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & Early British Paintings, which included the work Portrait Of James Vi Of Scotland, James I Of England (1566–1625) by Nicholas Hilliard. The price achieved of GBP 31,250.00 (€ 34,901.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nicholas Hilliard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Highly Important Miniature of Elizabeth I (1533-1603), Queen of England 1558-1603, In Gold Dress With Gold-Embroidered White Sleeves, The Bodice And Sleeves Slashed To Reveal White, The Bodice Richly Embellished With Gold-Set Ruby, Diamond And Drop in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 276,000.00 (€ 409,5
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Highly Important Miniature of Elizabeth I (1533-1603), Queen of England 1558-1603, In Gold Dress With Gold-Embroidered White Sleeves, The Bodice And Sleeves Slashed To Reveal White, The Bodice Richly Embellished With Gold-Set Ruby, Diamond And Drop im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 276.000,00 (€ 409.570,12).
