In August 2007 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works, which included the work Swiss Will You Buy? (Also Known As The Seashells Sic Seller And As A Girl Of The Sea) by Nicholas Chevalier. The price achieved of AUD 51,600.00 (€ 30,855.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 45,000.00 – 65,000.00. Other works by Nicholas Chevalier have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in August 2009 the work Swiss The Buffalo Ranges was auctioned for AUD 57,600.00 (€ 33,864.18).
