Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The brig Devonian of Sunderland in Maltese waters by Nicolas Cammillieri of Malta was sold in the Maritime auction at Christies in London in May 2008. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,590.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nicolas Cammillieri of Malta - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The British barque Anna Robertson of Scarborough leaving Malta, which sold at auction in May 2011 for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,431.64).
