Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dutch Eva En De Slang Ii by Nic Jonk was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Art auction at Sothebys in Amsterdam in June 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 7,500.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nic Jonk - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nereide op Triton II, which sold at auction in November 2003 for EUR 21,510.00.

Die Arbeit Dutch Eva En De Slang Ii von Nic Jonk wurde im Juni 2008 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in Amsterdam versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 7.500,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Nic Jonk mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nereide op Triton II beobachtet, die im November 2003 für EUR 21.510,00 versteigert wurde.
