Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Lady With Three Fish By Seashore by Nguyen Trung was auctioned at Bonhams in Hong Kong in October this year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 60,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at HKD 256,000.00 (€ 30,958.36). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Nguyen Trung; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ladies in the Peach Garden sold at auction in May 2016 with the realized price of HKD 500,000.00 (€ 57,790.75).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Lady With Three Fish By Seashore von Nguyen Trung im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 60.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 256.000,00 (€ 30.958,36) mehr als viermal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Nguyen Trung; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Ladies in the Peach Garden im Mai 2016 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 500.000,00 (€ 57.790,75).
