This artwork by Nguyen Trung achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in July 2020. In the Modern & Contemporary Art Online: Come Fly with Me auction, the work Girl Holding a Lotus sold for HKD 162,500.00 (€ 17,804.06) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nguyen Trung - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ladies in the Peach Garden, which sold at auction in May 2016 for HKD 500,000.00 (€ 57,790.75).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Nguyen Trung erzielte im Juli 2020 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Art Online: Come Fly with Me wurde die Arbeit Girl Holding a Lotus für HKD 162.500,00 (€ 17.804,06) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Nguyen Trung mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ladies in the Peach Garden beobachtet, die im Mai 2016 für HKD 500.000,00 (€ 57.790,75) versteigert wurde.
