This artwork by Nguyen Khang achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2016. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work A Traditional Vietnamese Opera Actress Reading Under Moonlight sold for HKD 562,500.00 (€ 66,194.58) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nguyen Khang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nguyen Khang | Fish, which sold at auction in July last year for HKD 1,260,000.00 (€ 157,222.11).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Nguyen Khang erzielte im Oktober 2016 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art wurde die Arbeit A Traditional Vietnamese Opera Actress Reading Under Moonlight für HKD 562.500,00 (€ 66.194,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 300.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Nguyen Khang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nguyen Khang | Fish beobachtet, die im Juli letzten Jahres für HKD 1.260.000,00 (€ 157.222,11) versteigert wurde.
