Auction result well in line with expectations
The work "Nothing Would Escape Their Black, Jewel-Like Inscrutable Eyes..." (The Guardians) by Newell Convers Wyeth was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2021. It changed hands for a price of USD 750,000.00 (€ 615,056.59) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00. Admittedly, works by Newell Convers Wyeth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work "Hands Up!" in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 4,951,500.00 (€ 4,680,941.58).
