Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Storm Clouds 1 by Neil Raitt was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,357.86). Admittedly, works by Neil Raitt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cabinectomy in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 35,000.00 (€ 33,137.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Storm Clouds 1 von Neil Raitt im November 2018 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.357,86) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Neil Raitt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cabinectomy im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 33.137,66).
