Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cows Sheltering Under A Tree by Nathanial Hone the Younger was sold in the Irish Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2019. The price achieved of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,549.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nathanial Hone the Younger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Captain the Hon. Robert Boyle Walsingham, M.P. (1736-1780), full-length, in naval uniform, with a view of Louisbourg, Canada, beyond in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 245,750.00 (€ 394,338.12).
