Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Four landscape views: Landscape with grazing cattle; A seashore with clouds (recto) and Study of cows (verso); A seashore with clouds; and Study of sea and cliffs (recto); Study of a cow (verso) by Nathanial Hone the Younger was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,321.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nathanial Hone the Younger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Captain the Hon. Robert Boyle Walsingham, M.P. (1736-1780), full-length, in naval uniform, with a view of Louisbourg, Canada, beyond in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 245,750.00 (€ 394,338.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Four landscape views: Landscape with grazing cattle; A seashore with clouds (recto) and Study of cows (verso); A seashore with clouds; and Study of sea and cliffs (recto); Study of a cow (verso) von Nathanial Hone the Younger kam im November 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Robert Boyle Walsingham, M.P. (1736-1780), full-length, in naval uniform, with a view of Louisbourg, Canada, beyond im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 245.750,00 (€ 394.338,12).
