Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & Early British Paintings, which included the work Portrait Of Ann Anderson, Wife Of Alexander Balmanno by Nathanial Hone the Younger. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,150.15). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nathanial Hone the Younger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Captain the Hon. Robert Boyle Walsingham, M.P. (1736-1780), full-length, in naval uniform, with a view of Louisbourg, Canada, beyond in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 245,750.00 (€ 394,338.12).
Robert Boyle Walsingham, M.P. (1736-1780), full-length, in naval uniform, with a view of Louisbourg, Canada, beyond im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 245.750,00 (€ 394.338,12).
