In November 2017 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale), which included the work Old Form by Nam Kwan. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 300,000.00 (€ 32,299.55), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Nam Kwan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work COMPOSITION CALLIGRAPHIQUE (2) in November 2016 with an auction result of HKD 1,062,500.00 (€ 129,472.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im November 2017 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Old Form von Nam Kwan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 300.000,00 (€ 32.299,55) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Nam Kwan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit COMPOSITION CALLIGRAPHIQUE (2) im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.062.500,00 (€ 129.472,73).
