Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Hills Of Jerusalem by Nahum Gutman was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,688.00 (€ 3,555.29). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nahum Gutman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tiberias Landscape in December 2018 with an auction result of USD 250,000.00 (€ 218,226.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Hills Of Jerusalem von Nahum Gutman im Dezember 2012 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.688,00 (€ 3.555,29) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nahum Gutman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tiberias Landscape im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 250.000,00 (€ 218.226,26).
