Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of EUR 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 2,270.50. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Nicolaas Martinus Wijdoogen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fishermen along a shoreline by a village, which sold at auction in January 2006 for EUR 6,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Shipping on a calm at sunset von Nicolaas Martinus Wijdoogen kam im Juli 2003 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 2.270,50 einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Nicolaas Martinus Wijdoogen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fishermen along a shoreline by a village beobachtet, die im Januar 2006 für EUR 6.000,00 versteigert wurde.
