Artwork auctioned at six times the upper estimate price
The work Women of the Nile by Munir Fahim was worth GBP 60,780.00 (€ 71,501.88) to a buyer in May last year. This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art including On The Banks of the NileA Journey Through Egyptian Art at Bonhams in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Munir Fahim; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Two Nubian Girls sold at auction in October 2019 with the realized price of GBP 106,312.00 (€ 123,314.30).
