Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work Threshing Floor; Siva Ratri Puja in the Darkest Night; Durga by Mukul Dey for USD 1,292.50 (€ 1,437.23). This price was achieved in the auction Indian and Southeast Asian art including 20th Century at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mukul Dey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Dancers; Musicians) in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 27,720.00 (€ 23,605.55).

Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Indian and Southeast Asian art including 20th Century bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mukul Dey erzielen.
