Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Duiwelkloof by Moshekwa Langa was sold in the Passion + Transmission: International Contemporary Art from the CAP Collection auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2013. The price achieved of USD 5,938.00 (€ 4,633.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Moshekwa Langa - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscape I, which sold at auction in November 2017 for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 9,932.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Duiwelkloof von Moshekwa Langa wurde im März 2013 in der Auktion Passion + Transmission: International Contemporary Art from the CAP Collection bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.938,00 (€ 4.633,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Moshekwa Langa mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Landscape I beobachtet, die im November 2017 für GBP 8.750,00 (€ 9.932,55) versteigert wurde.
