Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Phillips in New York held the auction 20th C. & Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Singing by Morris Louis. The price achieved of USD 1,700,000.00 (€ 1,542,789.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Morris Louis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Floral V, which sold at auction in November last year for USD 5,580,000.00 (€ 5,405,405.41).
