Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lambda Ii by Morris Louis was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2019. The price achieved of USD 1,820,000.00 (€ 1,651,692.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Morris Louis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Floral V, which sold at auction in November last year for USD 5,580,000.00 (€ 5,405,405.41).
