Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by Moritz Michael Daffinger was sold in the Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu, Silver & Russian Works of Art auction at Christies in London in December 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 900.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 750.00 (€ 1,019.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Moritz Michael Daffinger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A highly important miniature of Countess Elisaveta Ksaver'evna Vorontsova (1792-1880), leaning on her left elbow resting on multi-coloured cashemere stoles, her hand raised to her face, in brown dress with lace underdress and lace sleeves, jewelled s in December 2003 with an auction result of GBP 50,190.00
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A highly important miniature of Countess Elisaveta Ksaver'evna Vorontsova (1792-1880), leaning on her left elbow resting on multi-coloured cashemere stoles, her hand raised to her face, in brown dress with lace underdress and lace sleeves, jewelled s im Dezember 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.190,00 (€ 71.087,56).
