Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Portrait Of Count Heinrich Bellegarde (1798-1871); Together With His Wife Pauline, Née Von Wolkenstein-Trostburg (1805-1884), Circa 1830 by Moritz Michael Daffinger was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,291.92). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Moritz Michael Daffinger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A highly important miniature of Countess Elisaveta Ksaver'evna Vorontsova (1792-1880), leaning on her left elbow resting on multi-coloured cashemere stoles, her hand raised to her face, in brown dress with lace underdress and lace sleeves, jewelled s in December 2003 with an auction result of GBP 50,190.00

Als die Arbeit Portrait Of Count Heinrich Bellegarde (1798-1871); Together With His Wife Pauline, Née Von Wolkenstein-Trostburg (1805-1884), Circa 1830 von Moritz Michael Daffinger im Dezember 2018 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.291,92) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Moritz Michael Daffinger erzielen.
