This artwork by Montague Dawson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in October this year. In the The Marine Sale auction, the work Rolling along sold for GBP 17,920.00 (€ 20,577.14) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Montague Dawson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The action between H.M.S. Shannon and the U.S.S. Chesapeake,1st June 1813 in February 2006 with an auction result of USD 486,400.00 (€ 407,882.60).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Montague Dawson erzielte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Marine Sale wurde die Arbeit Rolling along für GBP 17.920,00 (€ 20.577,14) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Montague Dawson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The action between H.M.S. Shannon and the U.S.S. Chesapeake,1st June 1813 im Februar 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 486.400,00 (€ 407.882,60).
