Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Hurrying Seas' by Montague Dawson was auctioned at Bonhams in London in October this year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 34,560.00 (€ 39,684.48) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Montague Dawson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The action between H.M.S. Shannon and the U.S.S. Chesapeake,1st June 1813 in February 2006 with an auction result of USD 486,400.00 (€ 407,882.60).

Die Arbeit 'Hurrying Seas' von Montague Dawson kam im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 34.560,00 (€ 39.684,48) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Montague Dawson erzielen.
