Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Rolling along, The Gleaner' by Montague Dawson was auctioned at Bonhams in London in October last year. The price achieved of GBP 31,800.00 (€ 37,046.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Montague Dawson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The action between H.M.S. Shannon and the U.S.S. Chesapeake,1st June 1813 in February 2006 with an auction result of USD 486,400.00 (€ 407,882.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit 'Rolling along, The Gleaner' von Montague Dawson kam im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 31.800,00 (€ 37.046,65) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Montague Dawson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The action between H.M.S. Shannon and the U.S.S.
