This artwork by Mona Hatoum achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2021. In the First Open auction, the work Untitled (Shaker Colander) sold for USD 3,500.00 (€ 2,980.50) - well above the upper estimate of USD 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mona Hatoum achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Silence in November 2011 with an auction result of USD 470,500.00 (€ 349,736.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mona Hatoum erzielte im März 2021 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion First Open wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Shaker Colander) für USD 3.500,00 (€ 2.980,50) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mona Hatoum erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Silence im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 470.500,00 (€ 349.736,12).
