Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak, which included this untitled work by Mohammad Kibria. The price achieved of USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,407.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mohammad Kibria achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Painting in Black, Gray and Green and Brown) in September 2018 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 45,172.95).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Mohammad Kibria zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.780,00 (€ 3.407,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mohammad Kibria erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Painting in Black, Gray and Green and Brown) im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 45.172,95).
