In September 2021 Christies held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art, which included this untitled work by Mohammad Kibria. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,398.64), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Mohammad Kibria have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Painting in Black, Gray and Green and Brown) in September 2018 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 45,172.95).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im September 2021 führte Christies die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Mohammad Kibria zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.398,64) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mohammad Kibria auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Painting in Black, Gray and Green and Brown) im September 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 45.172,95).
