Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Minor White could be acquired at Phillips in an online auction in February this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Eye That Shapes: Further Selections from the Peter C. Bunnell Collection auction, the work Self-Portrait, West Bloomfield, New York changed hands for USD 1,890.00 (€ 1,782.68) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Minor White achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Photographs From 'Sequence 15' in October 2011 with an auction result of USD 62,500.00 (€ 44,812.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Minor White konnte im Februar diesen Jahres bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Eye That Shapes: Further Selections from the Peter C. Bunnell Collection wechselte die Arbeit Self-Portrait, West Bloomfield, New York für USD 1.890,00 (€ 1.782,68) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Minor White erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Photographs From 'Sequence 15' im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 44.812,50).
