Auction result misses estimated price range
In February this year a collector was able to acquire the work Grasses and Mist (Swamp, Mendocino, CA) by Minor White for USD 3,528.00 (€ 3,327.67). This price was achieved in the auction The Eye That Shapes: Further Selections from the Peter C. Bunnell Collection at Phillips in an online auction and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Minor White achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Photographs From 'Sequence 15' in October 2011 with an auction result of USD 62,500.00 (€ 44,812.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Grasses and Mist (Swamp, Mendocino, CA) von Minor White für USD 3.528,00 (€ 3.327,67) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Eye That Shapes: Further Selections from the Peter C. Bunnell Collection bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Minor White erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Photographs From 'Sequence 15' im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 44.812,50).
