Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2012 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Seventy-two Summits of Mount Nan by Ming Jian. The price achieved of HKD 93,750.00 (€ 9,766.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 80,000.00 – 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ming Jian - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Landscapes Inspired by Poems, which sold at auction in May 2013 for HKD 212,500.00 (€ 21,073.30).
